Promising Personalized Guidance Every Step of the Way

MY MUSIC LESSONS

My teaching style focuses on skills training, but also emphasizes self-exploration and discovering a passion for something new. The best students are happy and motivated ones, and music is all about expressing yourself and showing it to others!

Below there is a list of the lessons I provide, piano, violin, and viola lessons.

You may chose the one you enjoy, or if you or your child do not know which instrument to choose, I can show you the differences between them and together we can find which one suites you or your child the best!

I give private one-on-one lessons with each of my students, and in that way I provide the best attention and guidance to each of my students.

Lessons may be 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes, once or twice a week on a steady basis to ensure the best rate of progress for my students.

The length and frequency depends on the age, maturity, and personality of each student.

I offer a first 30-minute "try out" lesson, which is of no commitment to you or your child to get a taste of what music lessons are like, and what instrument and lesson time is best for you or your child. (Try out lesson has a fee)

Visit my Studio Policy page to learn details about pricing, instruments, expectations, and more.

Offering lessons in English or Spanish.

I do multiple student studio recitals per year as well as have many students participate in competitions and musical evaluations such as the NFMC Music Festival which occurs every late Jan/Feb.

PIANO LESSONS

Beginner to College Level

Students will learn the basics of keyboard instruments, such as music theory, correct hand posture, pedal usage, how to create dynamics, musical expression, ear training, and many other aspects which are fundamental in music and playing the piano.

Beginning students will have a method book in which I choose depending on his or her level. I use a variety of different method books, as some work better for certain students.

Intermediate students will begin to receive music pieces that are from intermediate composers as well as classical composers.

Advanced students as well as college-level students will be receiving serious works by composers of all different musical eras such as the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern, Impressionistic, and post-modern eras.

If a student has had lessons before, I am open to continue with their current method book or musical pieces.

Students of the Intermediate, advanced, or college levels may choose to participate in musical examinations or competitions if desired.

Public performance opportunities can be discussed as well and are encouraged!

If there is any song or piece that a student wants to learn, whether it's a serious piece, or a song on the radio, I will assist the student in learning it as soon as he or she is at the level where he or she can learn it. It is a wonderful feeling to learn a song that you enjoy!

Also, students may play group or ensemble music, such as two piano students, a piano and violin student or a piano and viola student. Ensemble playing is a great way to expand a student's musicianship and also can be very fun!

VIOLIN LESSONS

Beginner through College-level

Students will learn the basics and fundamentals of learning to play a string instrument.

This includes music literacy, music theory, correct posture, hand posture, bow techniques, shifting techniques, how to create dynamics and musical expression, and much more.

The method I use for violin lessons is the Suzuki Violin Method. It is a fast learning method that teaches students to read music quickly, to develop sight-reading and ear training abilities, and to develop rhythmic abilities quickly.  With this method students learn serious classical repertoire from the different musical eras along the way, which can be used in performances. Each of the books advances in level.

Additional music and music books will be given, such as ensemble music, popular music, modern music and other pieces to widen the student's exposure to different musical genres.

I am open to using other method books that students may have been using before or may want to try.
